Mark 02.11.2024 in your calendar, when the next folk festival will be held 🙋‍♂️

Last year, we were the third largest half marathon in the country. And no one ran a half marathon faster in Norway than Awet Kibrab 🏃‍♂️

3-Sjøersløpet

Why join the race?

3-Sjøersløpet is one of Norway’s coolest events to take part in. Catch the tense atmosphere when 3,500 go out and run. Follow one of our skilled speed controllers. They help you to maintain the right speed during the race, so that you can reach your goal. The trail is both varied and beautiful. Join us on a sightseeing tour of some of the best Stavanger has to offer. Out on the track there are lots of people, flags and music. Perhaps the coolest race of the year to take part in

About us

What is the 3-Sjøersløpet?

Stavanger is blessed with 3 lakes relatively close to the city centre. Beautiful hiking trails have been made of gravel around these. No wonder that these are widely used for both walking and jogging. How cool is it to run a half marathon around these? About ⅘ is run on very runnable gravel, the rest on asphalt.

The race is organized in November. Start and finish are at Tjensvoll, 3 km from the city centre. The exhibition hall Forum Expo is fantastic to use before and after the race.

We have made some changes this year. The first is that you don’t run all the way up Stokkabakken, but turn left after about 300 metres. Here you can enjoy running in a great free area, before turning right and running on the cycle path along Fv. 440 440.
Last year’s adjustment at Mosvatnet is reversed, and we will once again run past the “Andedammen”.
The latest change is that the start now goes 110 meters in front of the finish portal, compared to previously 5 meters behind.

We have 5 pools. The first pool starts at 12:00. There are 3 minutes between each pool.

Start group 1 1:05 – 1:35
Start group 2 1:40 – 1:45
Start group 3 1:50 – 1:55
Start group 4 2:00 – 2:05
Start group 5 2:10 – 3:30

If you want to follow a speed controller, stand behind this before the start. If you aim for a final time between two pacers, you can either line up in front of the pacer you feel sure you will beat, or further behind the pacesetter who you most likely won’t be able to follow all the way in.

You do that in the western part of Forum Expo; Friday 3 November at 12:00-18:30 and Saturday 4 November at 10-11:45 10-12.
