3-Sjøersløpet

Why join the race?

3-Sjøersløpet is one of Norway’s coolest events to take part in. Catch the tense atmosphere when 3,500 go out and run. Follow one of our skilled pacers. They help you to maintain the right speed during the race, so that you can reach your goal. The trail is both varied and beautiful. Join us on a sightseeing tour of some of the best Stavanger has to offer. Out on the track there are lots of people, flags and music. Perhaps the coolest race of the year to take part in

About us

What is the 3-Sjøersløpet?

Stavanger is blessed with 3 lakes relatively close to the city centre. Beautiful hiking trails have been made of gravel around these. No wonder that these are widely used for both walking and jogging. How cool is it to run a half marathon around these? About ⅘ is run on very runnable gravel, the rest on asphalt.

The race is organized in November. Start and finish are at Tjensvoll, 3 km from the city centre. The exhibition hall Forum Expo is fantastic to use before and after the race.

In order to have more space for starting pools on the bike path, this year we will move the start to Stavanger Ishall.
We will run the shorter course by running around Tjensvollvelodromen again.
The place where the course starts will have its own start portal.
There will be 187.5 meters between the start portal and the finish portal.
The finish line is outside Forum Expo, as before.

We will have 8 pools. The first pool starts at 12:00. There are 3 minutes between each pool. See page Participant information for division. 3 pools will line up on the bike path. The rest will line up between Forum Expo and Plasthallen.

If you want to follow a speed controller, stand behind this before the start. If you aim for a final time between two pacers, you can either line up in front of the pacer you feel sure you will beat, or further behind the pacesetter who you most likely won’t be able to follow all the way in.

You do that in the western part of Forum Expo; Friday November 1, 11:00-18:30 and Saturday, November 2, 10-12.
